If you’ve ever felt less Palestinian than your great-grandparents, more Palestinian than your cousin in the diaspora, or wondered if there are different grades or levels to being Palestinian, this bulletin is for you. And if you identify as a “Palestinian by choice,” it’s definitely for you. Here, we explore what true belonging means and how culture and identity shape one another.
No fixed formula or checklist awaits. Yet it’s a mixed bag of language, traditions, flag, anthem, currency, kufiyya (and watermelon), embroidery, folklore, art, cuisine, strong connection to the land or the cause, or the Question. And so, we harvest a collective strength; the Falastini Spirit.
This bulletin deepened understanding, broadened inclusion, and above all, fortified cultural resistance against erasure, manipulation, and canceling; be it annihilation, gaslighting, shadowing, silencing, or denial of existence.
